HMHB Legislative Advocate
Mary Frances Williams has spent the last 25 years working as a child and family advocate in Georgia. She was Director of Advocacy at Families First for nine years and has been working as a legislative and policy consultant since 1993.
Ms. Williams, who holds a Masters degree in Social Work from the University of Georgia, works primarily with nonprofits that serve children and families. Her current client list includes Families First and Healthy Mothers, Healthy Babies. She is also President of the Board of Directors of the Women's Policy Group.
Ms. Williams has received various awards and recognition for her advocacy efforts, including the Maternal & Child Health Community Service Award in 2004 from the Georgia Public Health Association and the Carolyn Wetzel Award for Advocacy in 2009. She was a member of the 1989 Class of Leadership Cobb and the 1993 Class of Leadership Georgia.
