Sandra Mobley, PhD, RN

picture1Sandra Mobley is Assistant Professor, Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Medical College of Georgia in.  In this role, she is also Director of the Enterprise Community Healthy Start Initiative, one of 100 federally funded Healthy Start Programs in the United States, and co-investigator of a research study on postpartum depression.  Over the past 10 years, her funding awards have exceeded $12 million.

Dr. Mobley completed the University Hospital School of Nursing in 1967, her bachelors in 1969, masters in nursing administration in 1988, and doctorate in nursing in 1997 at the Medical College of Georgia.  She was awarded the 2005 Tee Rae Dismukes Award by the Georgia Perinatal Association for her leadership and contributions to the improvement of perinatal health in Georgia.  She is currently Past-President of Georgia Perinatal Association and a member of the Georgia March of Dimes Program Services Committee.

Located at the MCGHealth, Inc Hospital and Clinics for over 10 years, she is knowledgeable of the Georgia perinatal regional system and the evolution of public insurance coverage for Georgia’s women and children.   Further contribution to her understanding and network is her experience which includes positions as a staff nurse, instructor, nurse practitioner, project coordinator of women’s health in public health, and consultant.

Her greatest joy has been as the mother of two daughters and grandmother to one grand-daughter.
