INTERN & VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES

Healthy Mothers, Healthy Babies Coalition of Georgia (HMHB) is pleased to offer the following Intern and/or Volunteer positions on a year-round basis at our office, 2300 Henderson Mill Road, Suite 410, Atlanta, GA 30345. You may choose your hours between 8am and 6pm. Minimum two hour shifts are requested. Training will be provided. If you are a graduate or undergraduate student and need an Internship, we are happy to complete the necessary paperwork and create a valuable learning experience for you that may blend several of the following opportunities. FYI-PowerLine is a call-center for Georgians to access healthcare referrals; we operate this service under contract with the State of Georgia.  Due to HIPAA and other requirements, background checks and formal application are required.

  1. LACTATION RESEARCH ASSISTANT - Research and contact all birthing hospitals, define lactation support offered, fill out PowerLine database entry form. Goal:  PowerLine breastfeeding support.  Reports to HMHB Director of Operations. 
  2. MARKETING ASSISTANT -  Under direct supervision of Executive Director, coordinate promotion of PowerLine and Healthy Mothers, Healthy Babies Coalition of Georgia, including social media.   
  3. GRANTS ASSISTANT - Under direct supervision of Executive Director, find grant opportunities, prepare applications, update Grants Administration List.     
  4. POWERLINE INFORMATION & REFERRAL SPECIALIST – answer the PowerLine call-center telephone, make healthcare referrals utilizing a database.  Upon prompts, utilize a prepared script. Reports to PowerLine I&R Specialist Team Leader.
  5. POWERLINE QUALITY ASSURANCE (QA) SPECIALIST  – call PowerLine users; use script to ask questions to determine quality of service they received. Document responses in an Excel spreadsheet. Reports to PowerLine QA Specialist.
  6. POWERLINE RESEARCH ASSISTANT -  using the internet, find new low cost, free, or specialized healthcare resources for specified geographic regions of Georgia.  Fill out database entry form.   Reports to PowerLine I&R Specialist Team Leader.
  7. POWERLINE DATABASE UPDATE ASSISTANT - using the PowerLine database, check resources for accuracy by calling to verify information. Fill out database update/correction form.       Reports to PowerLine I&R Specialist Team Leader.
  8. HMHB ASSISTANT TO THE EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR  – membership database maintenance, including data entry, clean-up, and report generation. Annual Meeting/Conference and Legislative Reception event planning. Reports to Executive Director.
