Healthy Mothers, Healthy Babies Coalition of Georgia to Launch Maternal & Child Health Data Hub

July 31, 2023

ATLANTA, GEORGIA - Healthy Mothers, Healthy Babies Coalition of Georgia (HMHBGA) is proud to announce the launch of the Maternal and Child Health Data Hub. This data hub aims to transform maternal and child healthcare in the state by providing comprehensive insights, data-driven solutions, and evidence-based strategies to improve the health and well-being of mothers, birthers, and children.

The Maternal and Child Health Data Hub is an innovative platform that collates, analyzes, and visualizes crucial data related to maternal and child health. By consolidating information from various sources, including healthcare providers, public health agencies, and research institutions, the data hub offers a holistic view of the current healthcare landscape. It will enable policymakers, healthcare professionals, and researchers to make well-informed decisions and take proactive measures to enhance the quality of care and services for Georgia's families.

Key features of the Maternal and Child Health Data Hub:

  1. Comprehensive Data Repository: The data hub serves as a central repository for maternal and child health data, encompassing a wide range of metrics, including Project 236 data, maternal mortality rates, child vaccination rates, birth outcomes, access to prenatal care, and more.

  2. Real-time Analytics: The platform employs cutting-edge data analytics to provide real-time insights into trends and patterns in maternal and child health, allowing stakeholders to identify areas for improvement and allocate resources effectively.

  3. Geographic Mapping: The data hub utilizes geographic mapping tools to pinpoint regional disparities in maternal and child healthcare access, enabling targeted interventions to address specific community needs. Users are able to compare county, district, and perinatal region data to state and national data.

  4. Collaboration and Knowledge Sharing: As an open-access platform, the data hub fosters collaboration among stakeholders, facilitating the exchange of best practices, research findings, and evidence-based strategies to tackle maternal and child health challenges.

  5. Privacy and Security: The highest standards of data privacy and security are upheld to protect sensitive information, ensuring that data is accessible only to authorized personnel and in compliance with relevant regulations.

"This data hub represents a significant step forward in our collective efforts to improve maternal and child health outcomes in Georgia, as we utilize the hub to inform and increase the efficiency of programs, policies and research," said Madison Scott, Director of Policy & Research at HMHBGA. "By leveraging the power of data and collaboration, we aim to foster a healthier, more equitable future for our mothers, birthers, and children."

The data hub is expected to launch on August 7, 2023.
