Katherine Sylvester is a mother of two, physical therapist, preeclampsia survivor, clinical assistant professor for women’s health, and VBAC-certified doula. She is the founder of Operation M.I.S.T. where she and her team teach women to use smart watches and blood pressure cuffs to show up to pregnancy healthy, navigate pregnancy without unnecessary complications, catch issues early and between office visits, survive delivery, and recover well afterwards.

She and her team and also host More than a Period Parties where they teach ladies about their bodies so they can trust, prepare and protect them throughout all phases of womanhood. These parties were designed with some of the following statistics in mind: vaginal tears and c-section scars can significantly contribute to pelvic floor dysfunction; urine leakage is an independent risk factor for nursing home admission and depression; and the number one killer of women in the U.S. is heart disease.

At Operation M.I.S.T. we do not believe in assumptions, protocol-driven care or generalized interventions. We believe that women’s health journeys are as unique as their fingerprints and should be treated as such.
